Awakening Dead
I visited the graveyard, silent and deep,
to see the Franklin family, but mostly my Grandfather,
Mr. Richard, a man of wonder,
woke each night to explore.
Determined to find new materials and ingredients,
his restless nights.
My Grandma, she’d often say,
"Wear long socks on your journey’s way."
But Grandpa, he’d reply,
"They’re tight and uncomfortable, I refuse to try."
That was the last I heard him speak.
He was the guy to tell
His stories of the Seven Seas.
After having a moment of Silence in the graveyard
I walked away
At the exit of the Graveyard,
Turning around, my blood ran cold,
A frozen river, dark and bold.
There he was, just like before,
A tall, skinny, pale elderly man
standing in front of my Grandpa’s grave.
My head was rushing with emotions and questions.
Did he come back from the dead?
Did my grandpa have a twin brother by any chance that he never told me about??
Did my grandpa ever die???
