I Hate You
I hate you.
I hate everything about you.
The way you effortlessly slide into every conversation,
the way you carry yourself,
your effortless stride.
The stylish clothes you’re not afraid to wear,
the rules you break because you can,
the people you draw in with your alluring smile.
The parties you go to,
all the times you’ve stayed out late at night,
the stories you tell me, filled with people I’ll never know.
The competitions you win,
the things you’re a part of,
things I will never experience.
I hate the way that you live your life.
There’s no one you’re afraid to talk to,
nothing you’re afraid to do.
You do things I could never do.
You dive into life headfirst.
You dictate your life, not letting it dictate you.
You’ve lived many more years than I have,
you’ve achieved more, experienced more.
I thought you rude, brash, arrogant,
in truth, you were living,
I was not.
I hate you.
I hate you and I want to be you.
