No one really knows her

No one really knows her.
She has a bright smile,
but rarely shows it.
She is smart and opinionated,
yet never speaks her mind.
What is she thinking about?
No one really knows her.
She is passionate about music and finds peace in reading in isolation,
but always seems lonely.
No one really knows her.
No one knows what she is facing on her own,
what issues she is having to overcome,
every battle in her mind is unknown.
even those that call themselves her friends are unaware of her pain,
her suffering in the dark.
Why?
Because,
no one really knows her.

I find it interesting how you can never truly know what other people are going through on their own, this piece in particular was an assignment for an AP lang class, so I wrote it based off of a girl in that class.
