My love is a fire

It's warm

It burns continuously

Though it is friendly

But only if you know

How to be gentle with it

If you don’t

Then it will burn you

Because it burns from within and out

It's why I don’t let anyone near

For I fear that I will hurt them

And they will see me as a monster

A volcano that will erupt

Destroying everything

Including myself

My love is tied with strings

They hold my heart in place

So it doesn’t spill and break

But somehow

It gets played with

They grab the strings

Holding it like a puppet

Just to amuse someone they like

And It hurts

Because they snap the strings

Making me clean it up

Sweeping the bits

Mopping the spill

I have to collect

All over again

My love is strong

Too strong

It's stronger than graphene

It's big like an elephant

My love gives strength

It pushes people to keep going

To carry on

It motivates them

But my love has gotten weaker

They take it and abuse it

They do terrible things

And it pains me

It aches inside

All over

It has made others strong

So why not me?

Why can’t I be strong?

It is because I let them

Hurt me

Use me

And I let them take everything

Away from me

My love expands further than space

It lasts forever

My love could be space itself

The human body has the same elements

That makes up the universe

So once I pass

My love would serve no purpose

It will be taken away

It's like someone taking candy from a baby

And no one will care

They will have probably forgotten

That I even gave them love

Because they were too busy

Wasting the love

Eating it up

Not even savoring it

It will be thrown in the garbage

Unwanted

No use

So I will make sure

That all my love is tucked away

Way back in my mind

Forgotten for good

But I know it's still there

Waiting to be opened

At the right moment

The right second

And once it's open

Then I know it's being used for good

And it will never be hurt again
