The truth

is a broken drum,

which is to say

people are dumb.

Speaking the truth

can be quite risky,

concerning those who

are soft, not frisky.

​

Our society

is solely broken,

and only few

are truly awoken.

​

The days march on

like a beating drum,

each step a beat,

but only heard by some. 

​

Every time I try

it's always,

"She wants to cry,"

"His stupid job pays,"

"They think we'll die!"

All of this

without a hint of sanity,

and when I'm in doubt

they act like it's profanity. 

​

When they do

finally accept the truth, 

the viewpoint is new

and rattles the golden tooth.

​

Once you've awoken

there's no going back,

for the truth has been spoken

and ingrained like a tack.
