Cocoon
Apparently
Caterpillars become butterflies
By entering a cocoon.
I need to grow wings,
To go to the moon.
And I guess,
Maybe,
That now I’m in my cocoon.
Working from
Noon to midnight,
And back to noon.
Making all the efforts
To grow my wings.
Others won’t see that though,
Not until I fly out. Right now,
The cocoon is my protection
From all predators
Hunting the caterpillars.
But if I grow wings, they
Won’t bother me,
Will they?
For now,
It’s just me inside,
In a half-conscious phase
Wondering when my
Wings will spread
Completely.
Every other caterpillar
Is somewhere else,
And I can’t tell if they’re
In their cocoon,
Already out,
Or waiting to enter.
All I know is that
I need to grow wings,
Leave my cocoon,
And fly all these colors
Up to the moon.
