Tree Dancing
It starts as a subtle urge in the back of a lonely tree's mind.
That little feeling starts to express itself through movement.
It sways in the wind to its' own rhythm
Its' branches curve and wiggle
The trunk holding firm.
Its' body rocks as if being lulled.
Wind picks up and the branches thrash about
The leaves are twisting and turning
until one gets loose.
Then another.
And another.
More leaves fly away to choose their own rhythm, their own life.
As the wind decelerates, the tree relaxes as if the song changed.
It's a slow dance now.
The tree returns to a swaying state of mind.
Soon its' branches stop altogether.
The dance is done for now
leaving the tree contented after its' own, brief kind of therapy.
But when that little urge comes back, the tree's spirit will revive
and the forest will be overcome with a wildly peaceful sensation.
