CAMPING POEM

It was that time of year again

Last weekend of

Summer break,

You can feel the sun on your skin

My friends and family

All going to the same spot as we always do

Same campground

Same site number

Same people

The excitement running through my body

That one thing ill never get sick of

All the kids running around

The smell of campfire and s’mores

The sound of people splashing in the pool

Even though the pool is freezing cold

It still feels refreshing after being in the hot sun all day,

Throwing cornhole bags

Eating ice cream

And riding our bikes

That's how you know you're camping

Even though fireworks are illegal

People find and get them anyway

Cause it is a holiday weekend

One year a tree caught fire

But that's beside the point

Leaving is always the worst part

It's an unfortunate reminder

Back to my house

this is one of my poems that I have worked to change but I still think I could make it better.
