A Girl’s Best Friend
Death lives in her
just the same as it loves her
with its heart that sounds like
home when it beats
Death becomes her
just the same as it knows her
with its eyes that shine like
gold when they blink
Death carries her
just the same as it welcomes her
with its open arms that feel like
its okay when they hug her after a hard day
Death loves her
just the same as it lives in her
with its mind that thinks like
a child now tainted
Death knows her
just the same as it becomes her
with its arms that remember like
a computer that has been cared for
Death welcomes her
just the same as it carries her
with its hands that hold like
she’s the most important thing in the world
