The Burning Girl
Turning over the hourglass, the sand slipped down too fast for his liking.
Innocence ticked by too quickly. Growing up and growing old without each other.
In the forest running around and doing what they loved,
it was addicting. Dripping sweat running, running out of time.
He looked back only to see nobody there.
Pivoting, slipping, falling on the ground.
In the forest was safe.
In the forest nothing in the world mattered,
it was just them and nature. The future seemed dark.
Burning his lips, the smoke was intoxicating.
The addiction that blew him away no longer in sight.
Gaining conscious again he ran further and further from her.
The world was dark. The world was cold.
Flames continued to spread burning everything in it’s way.
Losing hope and smiling high.
