I Stayed
TRIGGER WARNING: suicide
Every time I see you,
All I remember is what you said.
“I’m never going to hurt you again.”
“I changed.”
“I’m different.”
I should have never believed you.
But I stayed even when you hurt me the most.
I never gave up on us.
Made sure that you were okay.
Fought for us every day and gave up the world to be with someone like you.
But what did you do?
You cheated.
The baggage I carry now.
The anxiety to never trust anyone anymore.
You told everyone that I was the problem.
That was the reason we broke up.
That I was the reason that you attempted suicide.
But I am stuck here.
Crying.
Feeling like a fool.
