Great Balance
Great Balance
Is what binds us all.
That every animal knows.
Young and Old.
To the termites eating the grass, to birds soaring the sky,
To Lions prowling the desert
The code scared
“Only kill to survive”
If only it were this way….
One night, only one night could
Change the world.
That night when the small band of gazelle
Disobeying their mothers
Set off
exploring the wilderness of the serengeti
Wandering about..
They found a lion
Dead with its head cut off.
“What kind of fool
Would take only the head
And not consume the flesh? ”
Riddled with fear
Sweat rolling down their faces
Hoofs trembling
Silence present
It was the sound
Louder than a goats scream
Louder than a lions roar
Shattering the sound barrier
The sound that cut their skin,
that pierced through their hearts
The sound that eventually broke the
Great Balance
