Great Balance

 Is what binds us all.

That every animal knows.

Young and Old.

To the termites eating the grass,  to birds soaring the sky,

To  Lions prowling the desert

The code scared

“Only kill to survive”

If only it were this way….

One night, only one night could

Change the world.

That night when the small band of gazelle

Disobeying their mothers

Set off

exploring the wilderness of the serengeti

Wandering about..

They found a lion

Dead with its head cut off.

“What kind of fool

Would take only the head

And not consume the flesh? ”

Riddled with fear

Sweat rolling down their  faces

Hoofs trembling

Silence present

It was the sound

Louder than a goats scream

Louder than a lions roar

Shattering the sound barrier

The sound  that cut their skin,

 that pierced through their hearts

The sound that eventually broke the

Great Balance
