Wind
The wind, the thing that calms me.
There’s no right way to explain it.
It just makes me feel calm.
Makes me feel at peace. Puts my
worries to rest. Makes me feel right.
Makes me feel…home.
The wind reminds me of something. I
can’t put my finger on it. The wind feels
friendly. The wind feels like it’s inviting
me on an adventure. To explore high up
in the clouds or in far distant lands.
The wind reminds me of someone.
Someone I once knew but no longer
remember. Someone who could make
me crack a genuine smile. Someone
who made me feel like I belonged here.
A friend.
The wind makes me want to dance, to
spin, to twirl until I fall down, to wrap
myself in a hug, to simply feel the world
around me. Appreciating a break from
all the hustle.
Wind, my dear friend, stay for a bit
longer?
