We Are Not Okay.
“all i’ve ever known
gnawing and gnawing at my presence
leaving, dissinrgrating behind me like a ghost, its not just a roast
through clenched teeth and switches of emotions being pulled back
we’re all witches
feelings on a rack
“who shall i be today”
the constant question and lying behind my back, keeping me behind bars
never cry, crying is for little girls
all of us shiny pearls
with matte cracks and broken shells
we are not okay.”

My piece represents how even though someone says they are okay, they may not be. We are so good at hiding out emotions and faking it till we make it, we don’t realize how hurt we are.
