Missed
The morning after you left us
We woke to snow littering the ground
I knew immediately that you had sent it
To tell us you were all around
I knew you had completed your journey
Across the rainbow bridge
I knew you were at rest now
In a world of flying pigs
Though your body is no more
Your spirit explores beyond
You become everything
Of which we are fond
At night you watch over us
Sleeping safely in our beds
You curl up beside us
You send sweet dreams to our heads
When your sister worries
When she angers fears or knots
You are there to battle
Every mind invading thought
I miss you all of every second
But I meet peace at the signs of you
Your messages say that you’re ok
And that I will be too

This poem is about my dog who recently passed. He is the first loved one I have ever lost and was my first best friend. His name is Cash.
