Lost in Outer Space
I miss the smell bubbles and chalk
I miss the thought of staying up late as 9 o'clock
The only way to feel better was a hug
As you get older you are climbing up a ladder into outer space.
Each step is a new year
Each step is farther from “home”
As a kid you want to be at the top of the ladder
As a teen you think once you reach the top it can only get better
As an adult you realize you are at the top and there is no way down
Home is out of sight
But once you realize it's over
Your hoping for some closure
The top of the ladder is outer space
Outer Space is the finish line you think
Once your there its a race
You have to embrace all the asteroids you have to dodge
The passing asteroids retrace all the things in your life
You wish you were there
You miss home
There's no way back because everyone's gone
Now your lost
Forever
