Death.
Death is not willing, it is something that must be done
like the vibrant display between night and day, the setting sun
Death is the leaves falling off a withering tree
you need to die, they say it’s what makes you human you see
but is it humane when your child succumbes to cancer
or a loved one passes after a nasty fall
some never even get to start their life at all
it is not fair that some live to 90,
it's not fair that some must leave in the middle of their race
for life, is so fleeting
what it means to be human is not to die but to try living
to be the rising light against the dark in each day’s beginning
Rebirth is real, it is the leaves that grow back on that tree
if you choose to die so passively,
Have you even lived at all?
