The Girl You Were
The breeze will blow a gentle breath
That tills the river nicely
You will take a sharp knife
And be the one to slice me
The bees will pollinate
With a simplistic buzz
The only buzz that I have heard
Are the buzzards from above
The flowers wilt
And grow again
Like my baby teeth you've stored
The fallen petals
Still hold beauty
Then forever more
You shatter the pictures
Of the me
That I knew before
And before I know
A garden will grow
Over a patch of dirt
Where 6 feet under the ground
Lays the girl you hurt
