As My World Caves In
As my world caves in,
and no one else is there.
As my world caves in
and I remember him in my hair.
I take my scissors to the strands,
and snip them away.
Perhaps taking away my world,
would leave a difference all the same.
My world is not a person,
but my dignity in my heart.
As my world caves in,
and I am made of glass.
I turn to a sandy chart.
A chart of all the mistakes he made,
and he gilded me in sludge.
A chart of all the mistakes I made,
upon this hill I trudge.
Who can I trust in this world of thieves?
Take my dignity away.
My words feel weak,
I feel so poor.
In my world which falls away.
