If things were different
If you wrote me a poem, maybe things would be different
A different world would have been a brighter places for us
Us being together making sure the shadows aren’t our only friends
Where friends didn’t betray us and we weren’t all alone
Loneliness wouldn’t be the scariest thing
Things would have been saved if we just hadn’t changed
Change wouldn’t have been the worst thing for me and you
Me and you not together making life a little easier
Easier life would have given us lemons
Lemonade? No, you squeezed them into my eyes
Eyes no longer looking in mine
Mine now just cry
Cry because of one cold friday night

This was one of 3 poems that I wrote for a submission in my creative writing & publishing class. Enjoy!
