Autumn
the leaves call
call out to me, whispering your name
chills down my back, knots in my hair
wind pulling me towards you.
burgundy drops
ping the floor, drip drip dripping
slipping into time
when did we open the bottle?
driving at night
searching longing for hope
finding it in every part of you:
your eyes, your dress, your soul.
rusted heart,
Autumn never loved me
the way i loved her,
passing me by because you weren’t Mine.
