A final goodbye
I stand in the small box-like room, deep in thought, Loud creaking noises from the blue stretchers that seem stiff.
The wail of the blue and red sirens.
My cheeks left with a glistened stain leading to my chin,
My grandma speaks softly, “ ya regreso Joa, Te amo mi reina. Cuidate.”
Her sadly softened face disappearing as she gave me a smile.

The piece is inspired by the loss of my grandma not to long ago and the moment where I knew it was the end.
