She was Different
Her mind was unlike others,
her personality was unique,
her soul was mysteriously unforgettable,
the way she walked, observed, and spoke was unmatched,
you wouldn't know her story by the looks of her.
She was different.
She was a trooper but nobody even saw that,
smiling even when her mind tells her to do other,
staying quiet because nobody can understand the words that flourish from her mouth,
pushing her heart to see the good in everybody,
she was a curse and a blessing warped into one.
She was different.
She wore a troubled past like wings,
being everyone’s escape but her own,
staying positive even with the negative thoughts captivating her mind,
she understood the light and darkness,
her eyes captured the attention from others.
She was different.
She didn't fit in with the peers among her,
her mind wasn't fascinated with certain topics they should be for her age,
she wasn't worried about how she was viewed amidst people she won’t know in five years,
pushing her anxiety to the wrong issue,
caring about everything too much till she didn't want to care at all.
She was different.
Which is strange,
she wanted to be like everyone else growing up,
the feeling of wanting to fit in,
carved in her brain “Different is weird”,
running obstacles just to make sure nobody saw her other than normal.
“Who would I be if I wasn't different?”
“Would I know as much as I do?”
“Would I be as strong as I am?”
“Would I feel the way I feel?”
She didn't want to be anybody else,
she was in love her strange mind,
admiring that you couldn't figure her out by the first glance,
loving her troubled past that drove her to be so strong,
she was fine with the way she felt,
knowing she could overcome anything.
She was different and that was okay.
