Running Late
The morning of September 11
Was very odd
The bus didn’t come
I had to take the subway
The walk to the subway was dreadful
Once I got to the subway
People where obnoxious
I was annoyed because everything was going to slow
I finally got on the subway
At 6:30
I had to be at work at 7 'o'clock
The subway pulled out of the station
Stopped at exit 3
I needed to be get off at exit 1
Time was ticking
Exit 1 began exiting at 652
I still had was a 14 minute walk
I began walking and then
“BOOM”
Smoke hit me like a fastball
then filled the sky
As I’m walking I can’t breath
I look down to see the Alert
World Trade Center has been Attacked

I really liked this poem because I wrote it from a different perspective. Most people when they read a story like this it's different and it gives them a point of view like virtual reality. I think 9/11 is a very sad story that’s why I picked that instead of the other stories. It also was something that had really happened. It also happened right before I was born, during my mother's age.
