Shine Forever
There is a Stone in my heart.
Don’t be alarmed
I want it there.
It shines brightly
Emanating power
Asserting its will.
There is a Stone in my heart.
It was given to me
By my own mother.
A gift to her children
To give them strength
To shine in the dark.
Life is a curious thing.
No matter who you are
No matter where you’re born
No matter how you live
Life has an absolute for all these people.
It is unfair to everyone.
There is a Stone in my heart.
Shining in the darkness
Standing in the wind
Giving me strength
To face the world.
Sometimes the Stone dims
Sometimes the Stone falls over
Sometimes the Stone cracks
Sometimes life gets to me
But the stone never stops
For it is tenacity made manifest.
There it is shining brilliantly
Brilliant blue rays of determination.
Sealing its cracks
Standing back up
Stopping me from giving up
There is a Stone in my heart
And It Shines Forever.
