A Bright Night in This Lonely World
I sit and wonder,
What have we come to?
Protests, fights, violence.
It needs to end.
There is more suffering than gain
More tears, more pain.
More people dead than ever before.
So when does it all end?
We try to bring peace; it starts a war
So why try again?
The thoughts rush; just slow down
Breathe. In, Out.
The night is out, and all is good.
A bright night in this lonely world,
Can bring us together.
Peace and calm.
Quiet.

What inspired me to write this piece was the discrimination and protests that are going on in this country that have gotten violent with weapons, defacing of national buildings, and deaths of people that were completely untold for and should never happen again.
