Caprice
With Time’s whimsical stream
Oarless we are bid to drift
A harbor yonder: never in sight
Closer now, a tempest —
What brazen marauder could sail
Without the mandate of tides
On Aeolian conceit?
For sweet and fresh is the expanse
Until smiled upon by emphatic fortuity
‘Tis then we sigh for anchorage
And at clock’s strike our departure do take.
