Day dreaming
From across the room,
always finding myself lost in the thoughts of you.
Passing the time dreaming about that day when you finally ask me out,
before the chances of us being together disappear.
Too afraid to look you in the eye and confess,
that you're my first thought every morning and last thought every night.
Even though i know you don't think about me,
my heart burns for you in ways no one else's does.
Trying to collect my sacred thoughts,
as the day almost comes to an end,
I envy the glow of sun rays from the window that heat up your soft skin,
And the cool breeze across the room that messes with your perfect hair.
As i search for ways to calm my fluttering heart, i find you looking at me,
And in a spur of the moment i look away abruptly,
not realising that this whole time, i was gazing at you.

I started writing poems from when i was 13 years old. And unknowingly it became a hobby. I have loved writing poems ever since. I have written poems on a lot of genres and this piece is about how i think it feels to be in love and not be able to say it out loud.
