Him
Him.
He used to be someone I look up to.
He used to be the one who made me laugh
He was my role model.
The one who would make me feel like the only girl in the world,
Like I was on top of the clouds.
No one else compared because I was his.
He is now someone I fear
He is now someone I hope to never become.
He is now someone who makes me cry more than laugh
The one who makes me feel small, the one who points out all my insecurities and magnifies them.
He has failed his role.
he has hurt my heart.
He has lost my respect.

This piece was something that was very hard to write about but something that means a lot to me. Not everyone has perfect households and not every kid gets the perfect set of parents. My grandma told me there is always beauty in the darkness and to me this poem is the beauty.
