The Ups and Downs of Growing Up with Sisters
The Ups and downs of growing up with sisters
Growing up with sisters seems to be a dream,
especially if they are older and wiser.
However, I want to advise you
this may not be everything you hope for.
This may make you mope.
Growing up with sisters means you have built in friends.
although they will be your worst enemies.
My sisters help make many cheerful memories,
but they also help make many sorrowful memories.
Growing up with sisters I craved to be just like them.
They wanted nothing to do with me at our young age.
Instead of sharing laughs we would scream at the top of our lungs.
My sisters and I fought about our clothes, our hair, who was the favorite, or who was better
Every day was a new battle.
Growing up with sister’s I thought as we all get older
The arguments would get easier and would grow closer, that’s what I thought.
In reality sisters may just drift further apart.
As you grow older, they grow older.
And eventually they must take on the real world
and leave you left behind at home.
Growing up with sisters is I got used to having their company
Even if they caused me a lot of agony.
You realize how comforting their presence is,
till the day they move out and leave you behind.
Then you find yourself with:
No one to laugh with.
No one to fight with.
No one to cry with.
Growing up with sisters is amazing
Especially two older sisters.
I thought we would all be the best of friends
As we grew older, we would all make amends.
We can all be close.
But I am still the youngest
As they grow their relationship becomes the strongest
And me.
I’m just the immature younger sister that doesn’t understand
I must withstand never being a part of their special relationship.
Growing up with sisters is a challenge
Even if you will never be a part of their special bond
You will always be fond of you two older sisters.
Just like I am.
