Life, material, and love
Broken people look for help
Different ways
One sought love
From a lover to care
Unconditional
Another sought material
Money makes the man
But does it really?
The third sought substance
“It takes away the pain”
Addicted to the high
The fourth sought love
From a friend not a lover
Someone to live, laugh, and love with
The fifth sought the end
As their last hours dwindled
They forgot what to look for
They all sought something
Tangible. Intangible.
The tangible is short-lived
It doesn’t last long
The money runs out
The supplies run out
The food leaves you eventually
It isn’t the answer
The intangible is long-lived
But not always the best answer
Death is everlasting
Leaving you unfulfilled
Lovers and friends can leave
Sometimes they do stay
But looking only for lovers is unhealthy
So is friends
There’s just less precautions
But do what you want
Choose what you choose
It’s your life
Your material
And your love
It’s all for you

I wrote this poem in a time of hurt. I had lost someone around the time. It put into perspective the ways people cope. I hope you enjoy.
