Immersed
I see glimmering secrets in the leaves and blades of grass surrounding me
Green, twinkling, taunting me
Mischievous as they withhold mysteries from my fingertips
The looming clouds crowd overhead
Undulating in how one side shines a bright white
While the other holds the promise of a storm
Electricity and heat crackles in the air—
At any moment, I will spark and burn
By the time rain descends,
I will only be a pile of ash to wash away
