Reality vs. Expectation
I struggle to love because I'm infinitely jaded by the idealism of youth.
No physical sensation compares to the unadulterated fever-pitch passion I once expected.
No stolen glance or gentle kiss competes with the tenderness of my imagination, manufactured so vividly.
For fantasy trumps reality in every sense other than it is not real. And thus
every high sets the bar higher until the mind, who has learned to dream, cannot raise it anymore.
