Children
Children know more
Than people realize
They think we're silly, pouty, bratty things to despise
Yet you hide us from the outside world
You hide us from danger
From people
From living
You think we are gullible
and don't know a thing…
Boy,
Are you wrong
We solve problems
Change the world
Speak out
We don’t sit around and pout
But being young
Comes in handy
And our lack of no experience is just dandy
Sure where foolish
But where also “foolish”
enough to speak our minds
even when we “should be” quiet
And let the adults handle this one
We do this even while adults
are afraid
Their afraid of being judged
Of being threatened
Of being shamed
We don’t care about that
We care about making ourselves heard
while others are silent
I forgot to mention that where
Loud
Very loud
And when we speak our minds
And people realize that we know stuff
And have a opinion
That my friend makes us
Proud
