Just believe in you
They say hard times bring out the best in people
Storms come by and go
No matter how turbulent the winds are
On the other side awaits a rainbow
Diamonds once had no value or worth
They go through a tough phase
Crush and burn beneath the earth
To form that indestructible surface
We see the stars in the sky
Awed by their glory
Shining away in the dark night
But they have a different story
The stars burn to light, they are set ablaze
Without igniting,
They’re invisible from far away
Darkness doesn’t last forever
The sunrise is proof
The dreary times will pass
Just believe in you.
I wrote this piece of poetry right after the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were being lifted and everything was returning back to normal. It’s a reflection of the fact that with hope & patience, you may get through anything! Always think positive.
