I Hope It Lasts
He says to me “can we be one”
All his heart wants is a simple response
Waiting in silence
For what felt like hours long
Was merely 3 seconds,
Until I caught on
I was surprised
My heart paused and delayed
But my brain had already murmured
Y-A-Y hooray!
It’s been 10 months
But felt like 10 days
It feels just right
As time whirls and we play
The sun shines
And my smiles stay
I know I’m happy
When each day feels like friday
His love makes me feel
Like a newborn soul
Ready to begin a journey
Full of happiness and bright skies
I want to stay here for so long,
Not bothered by anyone.
The passion of love that surrounds
Can drown out any town
Even the fights
That can feel like there’s no life
Are special in a sense
Because in the end… they make us less tense
He lights me up inside
Like candles on a dark night
So please make him stay,
With me for the rest of the days
