I'm a plain paper

I'm a plain paper
Where I write my stories
Sometimes the endings are not happy
But I manage to keep a smile.
I turn a canvas
If I paint myself
With colors of life
What picture am I?
My fate decides
And works are the strokes
Blended with dullness
Behind a happy painter
And when I'm done
I crush myself
Or tear apart to pieces.
