Rat
Gnawing, Harsh, and cutting,
Are the teeth of a rat,
Bloody and aged,
Are the paws of a rat,
And suffering and tragic,
Is the life of a rat,
Yet forgotten and ignored,
Is the pain of a rat,
From the dawn of time itself the rat has been prey,
For creatures more respected,
To feast on every day,
And as pus pours from the rats chest,
Making the kitten gay,
Fellow rats are running,
Too scared to even pray,
Fear is a trait most natural,
To every living rat,
And relief a trait most natural,
To every dying rat,
The stench of ever sewer,
That humans try to ignore,
Is death,
Every rat’s final reward,
As fellow rats are crying,
In the pitch-black night,
They must continue running,
And fight their final fight,
For if they die society will cheer,
This always fills every rat with fear

I wrote this piece in a experimental writing class. Its not very experimental, but I like it.
