Who I am

An exhibit of ink

portrayed as a criminal

Only a misconception

Seeking guidance behind bars

My past can no longer imprison my future

I look towards God to free me

Not from prison, but rather from my depraved mind

The sunrise piercing my cell window

I cherish my growth

Now I see the end of confinement

Beyond dull walls that hold evil

Away from corroded bed frames

A new beginning

My heart is at peace

Constrained with steel shackles

I pray and await my release

Retaining optimism despite grueling battles
