Ode to My Hearing Aid
Silence…
Silence, is all I heard…
I felt alone, lost in a
World full of endless soundless noise
I was just four at the time
But I wasn't completely immune to
the beauty of music, cars, people screaming
But I was alone…
I was terrified…
Then one day the sounds
Around me were visible to me
I could hear…
I could hear cars, people laughing
The silence i once heard
Were washed away like ocean waves at sea
The once endless sounds I heard
Were transformed into a sweet melody,
For I wasn't alone or lost anymore
I was me
I was me…
And I was Free!
