Lament For Lost Soul(s)
“officials declare the teen death a suicide.”
I dropped the morning paper.
the silence of the crowded halls, deafening.
the crushed souls, crying.
“two teens dead by suicide.”
I clicked off the T.V.
the crowded halls, not so crowded anymore.
their crying souls, gone.
what once was a community,
now a graveyard.
suicide destroyed.
it corroded.
it broke what once was whole.
“suicide can now be assisted. talk to your doctor”
I tore up the pamphlet.
how?
how can something so heartbreaking,
so gut wrenching
be promoted?

I want to bring awareness to suicide, and especially assisted suicide and the heartbreaking affects.
