recently
recently
recently, i haven’t liked myself.
recently, i’ve been looking in the mirror,
and seeing nothing but a distorted face
looking back at me.
recently, i’ve been breaking apart like glass
at the littlest of issues.
recently, the voice in my head
has been speaking like a broken record.
“you’re worthless”.
“you’re annoying”.
recently, the days seem to have been getting longer
and the nights a lot lonlier.
recently, crying seems to have been added
to my daily routine.
recently, the dark cloud in my brain
has been growing and growing
almost getting ready to storm.
recently,
i’ve wondered
how much longer
i can keep going.
but recently, there’s also been a light.
recently, there’s been someone
telling me
to stay strong.
recently, the coldness has been leaving my shoulders.
brushing off the burden.
recently, i’ve been feeling hopeless,
but i’ve also been feeling hopeful.
because i know there is someone.
i know there are people
who are willing to help.
and because of that,
i’ve recently felt
less alone.

It's about feeling alone and like no one is there to help you lift your spirits, especially as a teenager. However, there are people that are going to help and are experiencing the same things. Together, everyone can look out for one another.
