What Reading Feels Like
Sitting on my bed
with a fluffy blanket
up to my chest.
Getting cozy and warm
as I crack open my book
and start to read.
The world I’m in vanishes
like it’s been sucked
into a vacuum cleaner.
I get teleported to a new one.
One where
I have no idea
what to expect.
It could be a heartbreaking romance
about two people on opposite sides.
It could be about a girl
fighting to break a curse.
Or maybe a boy
who is a long lost heir.
The worlds could be magical
with all kinds of creatures
or they could be just like ours.
Whatever it is,
it allows me to forget
the things going on around me.

I love to read because it takes me away from the real world and into a new one which is why I wrote this poem.
