I'm Sorry
There are many people
That deserves an apology from me
Too many to count
So here I am saying “how cruel must I be?” I am sorry
To my mother for being stubborn,
To my father for being rude,
To my brothers for
playing those mean pranks,
And to my sister for not
being the best sister I could be.
I can be ruthless and rude.
I often have an attitude. Unwilling to do my best. Competitive, I can be.
Well, that is me.
And I am sorry.
Annie comes from a decently large family. She had grown up with both parents and three siblings, two older and one younger. Annie wrote this piece after she felt like a failure of a daughter, sister, and friend. In writing this Annie hoped that other kids or people would relate to it. In writing this piece she hoped that it would allow the audience to connect with the poem and show that they are not alone with their own issues and problems.
