A Dysfunctional Affair
A Dysfunctional Affair
I plummet
Down and descend the stairs
That tells me I cannot be any longer,
The stairs that mock my faltered step.
Enchantment does not last for eternity
And neither does a hypnotic dance,
A hypnosis
Eventually turned to amphetamine.
Stairs that bind my sin and shame
I now project the color I wear;
Once blazing red, now a fitting black
I cannot burn in the dark sky,
So I take my burn and bundle it safely
To then descend the stairs.
I wish to pierce the heart
That scorched my breath; retribution
Is my new game
And you, my love, are my first contestant.
You are the nucleus of my insanity,
The shadow that holds my hand and seduces
the sins like a devils angel, devouring my friendships with the stars,
So once again,
I descend the stairs.
An appetite consisting only of my essence
He compresses my pant,
Guzzling the spirit from my physical body as
his eyes blaze with infatuation.
His chamber housed a thousand souls,
And mine, newly a part of that cell,
I stare down at his cracked lips dripping with massacre,
Void of a soul
As I descend the stairs.
I wish to lay at the heart of the universe
For so long
that it mistakes me as
An entity of its soul, so I can seep into the center
And pump the life back into me.
A sheer desire for protection,
however
I reach the bottom of the stairs and learn
That you
Are the creator of the staircase.
