Dreamer
I am a dreamer
Often staring into the distance
A space cadet if you will
A dreary-eyed doe look
As the curls of my hair fall to the side of my face
I barely remember the morning tasks
I walk into doors and walls
With my ever forgetful approach
And dainty stance
My mind is always racing
Never stopping for one thought
Addicted to the flood of dopamine
That anchors itself in my brain
A visionary
Building the foundation of my conviction
Both asleep and awake
I cannot halt
Every thought
As it turns into the strings of my ideas
And reminds me that
I am a dreamer

I'm a 17 year old high school senior with ADHD, I often find myself lost in space or thought and this poem was a dedication to a part of myself I never really thought to love.
