Senior Year
No one expects this to happen senior year
most would avoid it senior year
it’s a recipe for disaster.
But it’s our senior year and here we are,
and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Before you- it felt like senior year was flying by,
Slipping through my fingers
flying by
Just like my youth has.
It seemed like senior year would be like any other year,
there would be the fun days
then there would be the weeks
that drag on,
and on,
and on,
with no excitement.
But then suddenly
on a random November day
there was you.
And suddenly my senior year had a new excitement.
So as some would say,
I’ve stopped to smell the roses of my senior year
And enjoy all that is you.

Hello! I'm a senior in Spokane Washington! This poem is obviously about a new excitement I've found my senior year and I hope you like it! I don't really do a whole lot of writing but it's something I certainly find joy and peace in :)
