Leave Me Be
over daisies and damsels i danced,
on the clouds i cried
on the shores i shouted
in the fields, i felt
but no one noticed.
alone.
alone.
this loneliness is all consuming
this need to distance myself is all pervading
leave me be,
leave me to lick my wounds,
leave the tears on my face to fester
leave the sunlight to singe my skin
leave the dirt to deteriorate my body
leave the oceans to ostracize my faults
leave the rain to reprimand my wrong-doings
leave the wind to whisk away my future
& i’d whisper goodnight, but there’s no one there.
no one to care.
i’m all alone now.
& that’s alright.
