The Knock
Despair is a doll.
She held it close to her,
As she closed her eyes.
Sitting on the sofa alone,
This is all she felt she had.
She slowly began opening her eyes,
With fear she looked around.
Her mother on the kitchen floor,
Surrounded with a puddle of tears.
There is where she spent many days,
After that long arument.
It was like a blur to that little girl,
But she knew that he was gone.
Suddenly she heard a knock,
She dropped her doll and ran to the door.
At that moment she knew her worries were gone.
