Death is a greeting card
Something that comes knocking on your door unexpectedly
Greeting you to a new life that is indescribable
While others weep and cry at the thought of you being gone
You are venturing off, starting somewhere new
Life starts with a greeting card once you say hello to the world around you
This life can easily disappear just as quickly as greeting cards disappear into the trash.

I wrote this piece when doing an assignment that was given to us by our teacher. We randomly generated an item and mine happened to be a greeting card. At first I thought it was going to be a complicated assignment, however, I am happy I got a greeting card because of the outcome. I encourage everyone to try to write a poem based on a random item because it can be very insightful.
